Income Tax Assistance

Free Tax Preparation Services

Our VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Program is currently NOT accepting appointments for free tax assistance.

Volunteer Income-Tax Assistance (VITA)

CAPSBC operates a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site each year to prepare and file taxes free of charge for eligible households with income of no more than $56,000 per year. VITA volunteers are IRS certified to help families prepare their taxes and ensure they receive all eligible tax credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Young Child Tax Credit (YCTC).

EITC

Earned Income Tax Credits

This is an important tax benefit for low to moderate income working people. The credits offset any taxes owed and can provide a refund even if no taxes are owed. Workers must file a tax return to take advantage. To see how much you can get back, click here. For more information on CalEITC, please visit www.myfreetaxes.com or www.caleitc4me.org.
