Every day, grocers, restaurants, and food distributors dispose of edible, nutritious food due to changes in consumer demand, product dating, overstock, or limited shelf space. Through food rescue, this surplus can be recovered and distributed to those in need, reducing waste and addressing hunger in our community. The CAPSBC Food Bank offers a simple solution. We will pick up all eligible donated food directly from your location and provide an on-site donation receipt for your records. Your food donations help support low-income families and individuals throughout San Bernardino County, ensuring that no good food goes to waste.

 

Donating food also helps your business comply with California’s SB 1383 regulations, which require certain food-generating businesses to divert edible food away from landfills to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address food insecurity.

 

Food donations are protected under the Good Samaritan Food Donation Act (Public Law 104–210), which shields donors from liability when donations are made in good faith.
